What is a Blepharoplasty?
Eyelid surgery, also know as a blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of the eyelids by removing excess skin, fat, and/or muscle. This surgery can address issues such as drooping eyelids, puffiness under the eyes, and wrinkles around the eyelid area, resulting in a more youthful and alert appearance. Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, and is often sought by individuals looking to refresh their facial aesthetic or improve their vision in cases where sagging eyelids obstruct sight.

Upper Blepharoplasty Procedure
An upper blepharoplasty procedure begins with the administration of local anesthesia, or sedation if procedure is to be done asleep. Dr. Henry then makes precise incisions along the natural crease of the upper eyelid, allowing for the removal of excess skin and fat that contribute to sagging and drooping. Once the desired adjustments are made, the incisions are closed with sutures that will need to be removed after a week. The entire procedure usually lasts approximately one hour, and patients can return home the same day.
