What is a Facelift?
A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at reducing visible signs of aging on the face and neck. This procedure involves the removal of excess skin, tightening of underlying tissues, and repositioning of facial structures to create a smoother and more youthful appearance. Facelifts can address sagging skin, deep creases, and jowls, helping to restore facial contours and improve overall facial harmony. The results can last several years, making it a popular choice for individuals seeking to enhance their appearance and boost their self-confidence.

Different Facelift Techniques
Every patient requires a personalized facelift technique tailored to their unique facial structure, concerns, and desired outcomes, ensuring optimal results and satisfaction. Some the facelift technique options include:
Skin Facelift
-
A surgery that focuses on tightening and lifting the skin itself without addressing the deeper tissues.
-
This technique is less invasive and involves shorter incisions, making it suitable for individuals with minimal aging or those who prefer a quicker recovery.
-
While it can improve sagging skin, the results may not be as long-lasting as those achieved with deeper techniques like the deep plane facelift or SMASectomy.
SMASectomy Facelift
-
A surgical procedure that involves the removal or alteration of the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS), a layer of tissue beneath the skin that supports the facial structure.
-
By addressing this layer, surgeons can achieve more significant lifting and tightening effects, providing a more comprehensive rejuvenation compared to skin-only techniques
Deep Plane Facelift
-
A surgical technique that lifts and repositions not just the skin, but also the underlying structures of the face, including the deeper facial tissues.
-
This method allows for a more natural and longer-lasting result, as it helps to restore volume and contour to the mid-face by releasing the ligaments that tether the skin, resulting in a smooth and rejuvenated appearance.
